YAY!!!

Finally, the end of the course. I am more than satisfyed with the outcome. It has been a lovely 10 weeks, but I am not sad it is over! I was able to learn quite a bit of new information on proper writing. I learned much more this class than my previous writing class. Overall, this semester has enabled me to become a better writer. I know how to write a solid thesis statement. I learned how to write without using too many uneeded words. I am able to gather my thoughts in a structured way so not to repeat myslef or leave out important key points or supporting details. I feel more comfortable developing an outline. I was able to gain better knowledge on proper citing and referencing. I do need more work in all of these areas; there is always room for improvemet. I hope this class has been just as beneficial to the rest of you. It was a true pleasure working with each and every one of you. I was able to learn a lot through my classmates. Thank you for that. I send the best of luck out to all of you with your future. I also hope you are able to enjoy a happy and safe holiday season. Please, feel free to write to me anytime on here. I will check it weekly. Thank you again for all the hard work you put into class. I was able to learn more efficiently because everyone put in hard work. Best of wishes to all!

Thankgiving!

I am excited for Thanksgiving this year. My husband and I usually throw the holiday dinners. Ever since we have been out here we have had huge gatherings for every holiday occasion. We have many married friends, but also many single airmen. I have 18 and counting coming for dinner this Thanksgiving. I am deep frying one turkey, oven cooking another, and ordered a honey baked ham from the store ready to eat; just have to heat it up. I am usually overwhelmed and ask a couple of girlfriends to come over early to assist in the set up. We have fun drinking wine or martinis while the sirus xmas station is going and we are busy prepping for the feast. The guys usually watch football in the next room and drink their beers while devouring shrimp cocktail and pigs in a blanket. I try to put all the food on the table and allow for everyone to sit down there, but this year I am not being fussy. I will go buy some tv dinner trays and let everyone shuffle to a spot. As long as we say grace and get to break bread together; I will be happy. Last year I said "forget cooking" and went to the store and bought a ton of rotisserie chickens; one for each couple or person, depending. It was fun! Everyone had a chicken and got to bring it home. Easy clean up. But this year we do not have that kind of money, especially with the big move coming up. I will wake up, start my coffee pot, turn on the news, get the turkey going, then turn on the Patriots game that starts at 9:30 am. I am glad they will be playing that day. If you have not ever had a deep fryed turkey you are missing out. It is the best tasting turkey I have ever had. MMMM. I hope everyones Thanksgiving is wonderful and relaxing and filled with loving family and friends. I will be so sad to leave behind the traditions that my family has made with friends out here. On the other hand, I will be able to return back to old traditions with our families and that will be much enjoyed. I am bound to get super emotional and cry during prayer; I always do, but this year it means alittle more because I am leaving the place that I called homw for so long and the freinds that I made my family. Oh, no my eyes are watering right now. Ok, enough already. Have a lovely turkey day and god bless!

Almost There

I am prgressing with the house packing for the "big move". The house my family lives in is on the airforce base; meaning we have to fill any nail holes and touch up on the paint. I finished the upstairs. I am not going to start packing the downstairs until after Thanksgiving because we have 18 people coming to eat here that day; I want the house to be homey. I could not cook or concentrate on entertaining in a bare house! I am glad the people moving in like the paint on the walls; or else I would have had to paint this whole house back to white. Who really wants white walls anyway? Not me! I am excited that school is wrapping up. It feels so good! I will be ending with great grades again. I honestly never thought I could be a great studentr. I did not do too welll in school during my teen years. I understand now that I was just truly not applying myself. I could have done very well if I had. Well, I know this now; better late than never! We are trying to teach my son how to walk. He will be one year old on December 1st. My husband calls it "daddy bootcamp" when he works on getting the kids to walk or do something else new; such a airman at heart. But, I am glad he will not be an airman anymore! Just a few more weeks left now and I get to leave this ugly city; Las Vegas. This place is rated 3rd out of top 10 worst schools in the country, last time I checked. The unemployment rate is the lowest and collection for unemployement the highest. The streets are a sight for sore eyes, and I cannot wait to see the peacful quiet country again! Ahh, at last.

WEE WEE here I go all the way home!!!!!

So, I am having fun writing my 6-8 and 7-10 page papers for college composition and anatomy...NOT! Well, it is going just fine, but boy would I rather be doing something else! For instance, I have so much organizing and packing to do for this big move. The kids and I are flying back for the first week of December. My husband and my father are driving the U-HAUL on the 15th out of Vegas. I am going to miss my friends. It is funny when I thought I was staying here another whole year I was dying to get back east, but now that I am leaving in less than a month, it seems sad. It is sad that I will be leaving the family that I made in the years that I was out here with my husband in the Air Force. It is sad that the people who I consider my great friends will only be phone calls away. I will cry a lot when I leave. The adjustment will be crazy. Nevermind the change in weather and region, but the change in life that goes along with this move. We have been used to the military life. Now, we will be entering life in the civilian atmosphere again. Here on base we have all our own things, food store, mini mall, a place similar to walmart, a veterinary office, thrift shop, pharmacy, post office, church, library, banks, hospital, convenient stores, gyms, pools, schools, and even gas stations! Wow, it will be weird having to drive a bit to get a gallon of milk! But, I will rather enjoy the simple country life that I grew up on. That song by Antebellum American Honey reminds me of how I feel! Nevermind my parents always send us jars of fresh honey from their bee hive, along with jarred jam from my husbands grape vines! I cant wait to restart that life style. I will love the snow and then the spring and fresh garden vegetable and fruits. I am excited! Leaving the life I have lived for much of my adult life will be difficult, but in the end life is short and spending it with the people you love most, to me, is the most important.
